- Underwriters review your finances and the property.
- Requests for updated statements or explanations are a normal part of underwriting.
- Respond promptly and send sensitive information through the secure AMS process.
Transcript
Your mortgage application has now been submitted to the lender.
An underwriter reviews the information about your income, employment, debts, down payment, credit and the property.
They may ask for updated bank statements, explanations or additional documents. That is a normal part of underwriting, not necessarily a sign of trouble.
Our job at AMS is to coordinate these requests, clarify issues and keep you informed. Please respond quickly to document requests, but send sensitive information through our secure process rather than regular text messages.
